Our family has lived in the Tri-Valley area for 18 years, and we are blessed to have made so many wonderful relationships with people and organizations in our community. We are dedicated to supporting our vibrant community through service and donations of funding and construction work.

Gayler Affiliates

Below are some of the local nonprofit groups and programs that we are proud to be involved in.

Gayler Community Solar Program

The Community Solar Program was designed to provide Contra Costa County residents with discounted solar pricing, while also helping to improve the environment. We teamed with Solar City, a local solar company, and Morgan Stanley to offer a lease program. Homeowners were able to lease solar panels without any upfront costs. Nearly 40 homes, a local church and a paper plant took advantage of the program, with a resulting 903.4 kilowatts removed from the grid!

In addition, the program generated $19,634 in referral fees, which were donated to Rotary International- earmarked for the San Ramon Valley School District and Rotary’s international programs for child vaccinations and clean water.

The program was completed in 2008.

Taylor Family Foundation

The Taylor Family Foundation’s mission is to preserve the wellness and enhance the quality of life for children in Northern California living with life-threatening and chronic illnesses, developmental disabilities and youth at-risk through unique therapeutic experiences and support. We became involved with the Taylor Family Foundation through our dear friends, Elaine Taylor and her late husband, Barry.

Sustainable Danville Area

Darlene Gayler, our Vice President, is a co-founder of the Sustainable Danville Area, an organization with a mission to recognize and inspire sustainable practices that support a healthy quality of life and a healthy local economy throughout our community – with the following purposes:

  • Encourage sustainable practices by facilitating partnerships between local schools, businesses, government and residents within the Danville Area
  • Recognize what we ‘Already Do Well’ and figure out ‘What We Can Do Better’
  • Focus on fact-based win-win, non-partisan initiatives and solutions that are relevant to our community
  • Promote and encourage buying from local businesses that provide quality information about their products and services
  • Demonstrate how sustainable lifestyles and responsible operations are financially advantageous to our community.

We encourage you to visit the website of the Sustainable Danville Area, and see where you can contribute to the benefit of yourself and our entire community.

Micro Business Mentors

Micro Business Mentors goal is to move individuals and families out of extreme poverty and put them on a path to economic recovery through micro business development. The non-profit organization shares Christ’s love and hope through one-on-one mentoring and funding of grants to mission partners for the purpose of making micro enterprise loans to carefully selected individuals who are motivated to become self-sufficient. We became involved with Micro Business Mentors through our good friend Dave Herrmann who serves on the organization’s board of directors.
